WestAkron produces a variety of products for use in thermal protection and insulation.
The multi ply winding process allows us to use various flat stock materials to build reflective sleeving specific to the customers performance needs. Combinations of reflective foils, composite assemblies with fiberglass cloth and aluminum foil, stainless steel, organic paper and dielectric films are some of the materials that WestAkron utilizes.
COMPOSITION:
Semi flexible duct made of multiple wound reflective and insulating materials.
Inside diameter range: 12 to 200 mm.
APPLICATIONS:
The flexible ducting is used to protect critical items in high temperature environments (plastic tubes, hoses, electrical harnesses, remote control cables, fluid lines etc.) It carries highly heat reflective materials on the outside and insulating material on the inside that provides a thermal barrier.
EXPOSURE TO FLUIDS: This tube is approved for exposure to all the fluids found in automotive engine compartments.
MECHANICAL RESISTANCE:
The ducting can be compressed lineally. It is therefore easy to crimp on the element to protect. The mechanical resistance can be increased by using a heavier gauge layer of aluminum.
MEASUREMENT MADE WITH A BLACK CERAMIC RECEIVING BODY
AT AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE, 22°C.
HOW TO READ THE GRAPHS: For a source temperature of 750°C and a distance of 45 mm between the source and the receiver, the internal temperature of the tube will be 250°C.
